Earth Constitution Institute (ECI).
Earth Constitution Institute (ECI) has been formed to promote the Constitution for the Federation of the Earth commonly known as the Earth Constitution, which has been created by the global movement of world citizens.
The Earth Constitution:
After two world wars and destruction, citizens of the world thought that the world should unite and for a World Federation with a governance system for the world, in other words a World Government.
Visionaries like Sri Aurobindo, Mahatma Gandhi and many other world leaders thought the World Federation and World government is a must. in 1945 World leaders assembled at San Francisco, formed the United Nations under UN Charter.
The Constitution for the Federation of Earth was approved at the second session of the World Constituent Assembly held at Innsbruck, Austria on 26-29 th June 1977 and adopted as finished with final edits made at the fourth session of the Assembly at Troia, Portugal, in 1991.”
VISION
The vision of the Earth Constitution Institute is to :
1. To enhance the opportunities for humans to seek education concerning world problems ;
2. To enhance education concerning governing of individuals through ultimate adoption of a democratic supra-national federal constitution such as the Earth Constitution; and
3. To function as a think-tank and project coordinator for task consistent with (1) and (2) and clarified in a mission statement in the by-laws.
MISSION
The Earth Constitution provides for global green governance model which covers the following:
1. Promote the creation of World Federation of all nations of the world, based on the principle of “World is One Family”.
2. Promote awareness through educational programs, seminars, conferences, discussion groups etc., about global issues of planetary welfare, international laws, global governance under the Earth Constitution, among the global citizens through various academic, knowledge-share, skill enhancement programs.
OBJECTIVES
Include: Take-up /Encourage affiliates and members of coalition to take-up Study, Research, find solutions to Global Problems and implement them through social projects around the globe in current crisis areas like :
1. Managing food crisis,
2. Global warming and climate collapse,
3. Health & Nutrition issues,
4. Skilling/upskilling/reskilling of youth to manage future challenges,
5. Spreading awareness about democratic practices.
Certificate programs on subjects covered under the objectives. Sooner or later the activities to include all those mentioned in Article 7.3 of the Earth Constitution.
